Creative Cheerleading Fundraiser Ideas

We are all way too familiar with the fundraising ideas that have been out there forever. You know what I’m talking about; cookie dough, candy bars, wrapping paper, and holiday gifts. And if you’re at all like me, you are sick and tired of these boring, worn out ideas that seem to have been in use forever. And as a cheerleader, cheer coach, or cheer parent, you are ready for some creative cheerleading fundraiser ideas that you can use to break out of the monotony and to have a record breaking fundraiser.

The hard part about getting too creative when you are looking for cheerleading fundraising programs is that you can go too far and end up with something that no one wants to participate in or that is so unique that you don’t really have a market. So it’s very important to look for sports fundraisers with products that are sell-able but that still stand out from the crowd.

One really fun idea for cheer squads that are affiliated with a school is having a Smencils sale. Smencils are scented pencils created by tightly wrapping and hardening recycled newspapers around a pencil core. They are also available as pens known as Smens. They are inexpensive ($1 for Smencils and $2 for Smens) and they are incredibly easy to sell during the school year, especially around testing times when students have an extra need to writing utensils. They are fun and creative and a simple but very real change of pace from selling cookies or candy bars.
