Fundraising school ideas are plentiful and easy to come by. In fact, if you are looking for fundraising ideas for your school, which I assume you are since you found us, you may find that there are way too many fundraising programs to pick from. For most schools, the main criteria they are looking for in school fundraisers are things like high profits, low minimums, and low start up costs.

The trick is to narrow down the school fundraising ideas to those that have the best chance of being successful. Many factors go into these considerations such as what time of year the fundraiser will be done, what kinds of products are currently in vogue, does the school want fundraisers that are free to start or ones that offer high profits, what kinds of prices the economic environment will sponsor, and even what fundraisers other schools are doing so as to gauge the amount of competition your student fundraisers will face. And while all of that may sound difficult, it is actually fairly easy to find out before hand just which fundraising idea will work best for your school.

Some fundraisers are affected by the weather while others are not. Obviously a car wash is not going to do very well during a thunderstorm. But on a larger scale, some fundraisers are seasonal. For example, our flower fundraiser is available during the spring and the fall but is not available during the summer or for a month during the winter to ensure that the bulbs are planted in their growing seasons. Just make sure that the fundraising school ideas that you look at are available when you want to do them. If not, you may want to consider rescheduling.

The biggest tip that we can give to schools on ways to improve their fundraiser is to get outside of the fundraising committee and ask people their thoughts on the programs you are choosing from. Many times, if you ask other parents, friends, and even students, the program they get the most excited about may not be the one the board likes. You will almost always want to choose the program that gets your customers excited because it will be the one that will lead to the greatest sales and the highest profits.
